The Wilderness is so beautiful from a bird’s eye view. The sand dunes are successive and seems without end. No man, few plants, only sun, wind, caves and springs. If the Hollywood has to make a grand movie, it’s a very good scene.
Seeing it is romantic, but fasting forty days and nights is not romantic again. i.e. standing for the burning sun and increasing hunger, sleeping in caves, facing many temptations within…
But it’s a good chance for Jesus to be completed.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1: 2-4
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet was without sin.” Hebrew 4:15
I cannot fast for forty days. But if I have chance, I would like to fast and sleep in the wilderness for one day. I think it’s a good way to see God.
